Art in the capital on the Rhine

Düsseldorf is known for its art scene. In addition to the bars and clubs of this city, there are always architectural highlights such as the Gehry buildings at the harbour, the new KÖ-Bogen or the Dreischeibenhaus with the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus as a point of contrast. Above all, the Tonhalle with the Ehrenhof at the end of the enchanting Hofgarten bear witness to the early elegance of the state capital.

But there are also numerous magnificent buildings here and there in and around the old town, such as the “Regierungsschlösschen”, the neo-baroque building on Cecilienallee or the “Carsch House” (neo-classicism) on Heinrich-Heine-Allee.

For art lovers, Düsseldorf is a very special place. Whether avant-garde art in the tunnel in the KIT, the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in the K20, the K21 in the Ständehaus, the Kunsthalle or the Kunstpalast; the scene here can really draw from the full range without having to travel far – Düsseldorf remains a village in all the right places (“Dorf” means village ;))!
